The Christmas tour moves from Bristol to London, where as is tradition, Andy and I seem to manage a single day’s overlap between me getting home and him leaving for same. So on his lunch break, he sneaks over to The Blues Kitchen for a quick catch up. Somehow our food arrives long before our drinks, which suspiciously turn up 30 seconds after we politely enquire as to their absence. A pretty basic fried chicken and gravy for me, served with decently seasoned fries. The gravy is non-descript, and the chicken, to be fair to it, does quite well to not be too greasy whilst still hitting that nerve. It does the job nicely, but it’s all just ballast for seeing a friend, so who’s complaining.
