Bokman

Bristol, 2025-12-16

Continuing the pre-Christmas tour of catching up with friends, I try Bokman’s lunch deal for the first time with Zac. Considering the quality of the food and the standards of the restaurant, it’s a remarkably affordable deal, with a main and either a soft drink or their renowned soft-serve ice cream for only £15. As I know I’m going to Other this evening, I am good and opt for the soft drink, a lovely yuzu-ade (Zac, however, fights the good fight with a honeycomb topped ice cream). I have the crispy pork belly with rice, served with two dipping sauces of gochujang and honey mustard, each doing exactly what they need to do in heat and sweetness respectively. The pork is the ideal balance of crispy on the outside and tender in the middle - I’d have liked and indeed expected a bit more in the way of pork if I’d been paying a la carte prices, but I can’t argue on the lunch deal. A lovely catch up with Zac over this, and I’m on my way.
