Wanting to make the most of my 24 hours or so in Paris, I want to get a good café experience in, and Phoebe recommends me Odette, situated just outside Notre Dame, with seating outside for an excellent bit of people watching. I enjoy a couple of choux buns - one chocolate, one coffee - each perfectly lightly sugar-crusted, generously filled, and topped with a chocolate disc. I washed them down with a hot chocolate - not too thick, it would have been ideal for croissant dunking but I had lunch to account for - and basked in the view for a brief while. An excellent way to start the day.
