A cute novella from Newitz, vignettes from a near-future robot-run ramen restaurant (I’m so sorry). It’s sometimes on the nose with the setting (California being a separate country post a war with America), but less than it could have been with the central allegory. Ultimately, though, it’s a cosy read in interesting company with things mostly going right.
